It is hard to have it all and by the sounds of it you made the right decision to get those summer jobs (and what great experience as a reporter!) and save up the money. As far as I know the Rockies aren't going anywhere and it isn't going to have to be something you miss out on forever. Instead of regretting the time you could have spent doing that, just make it a goal to do now. I'm sure you had many an adventure in your summer jobs and gained a lot of working experience and knowledge and maturity. You probably made a few friends there too. That’s a great story.
